The jackfruit tree in our garden is like a member of our family that I have known since childhood. When the sun is harsh, the cool breeze under its branches brings great comfort to my mind and body. Known as the "Rice Tree" of Sri Lanka, it is a great gift that satisfies the hunger of our people. Seeing the tree full of fruit reminds me of the endless kindness of nature. I deeply appreciate this valuable tree, which has nourished our ancestors for generations.

​The sunlight filtering through its leaves creates a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere in our surroundings. The jackfruit tree is a noble giver, providing food and shade to both humans and animals without expecting anything in return. Listening to the rhythm of rain falling on its leaves brings a wonderful sense of calm to a busy mind. I feel that this evergreen tree is a precious heritage we must protect for the future. Ultimately, the jackfruit tree is not just a plant; it is a silent blessing in our lives.
